Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, asserted that Egypt is leading the Middle East and North Africa region towards green investment through providing sustainable financing for environmentally friendly projects in the fields of housing, clean transportation and renewable energy. This will lead up to reducing pollution, adapting to climate change, raising energy efficiency, and managing sustainable water and sanitary drainage in a way that contributes to laying the foundations for comprehensive development, taking into account the environmental dimension, in light of Egypt's Vision 2030, in a way that helps raise the standard of living of citizens and the public services provided to them. In celebration of the success of the first sovereign green bond issuance, which was attended by Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and representatives of the success partners from the relevant ministries. The minister said that Egypt's success in issuing the first sovereign green bonds offering in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at a value of $ 750 million for a period of five years with a return interest of 5.250%. Shaker Inaugurates Siemens Energy Service Center and the Egyptian German Academy for Technical Training at SC Zone

Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of   Siemens Energy Service Center and the Egyptian German Academy for Technical Training, in the presence of Staff Major General / Abdel Mageed Saqr, Governor of Suez, Mr. Joe Kaiser, CEO of the German Siemens AG, representatives of Siemens and Mr. Ufa Jilin, the first advisor and head of the German development cooperation mission in Egypt, and the engineer Dr. Magdy Galal, Chairman of the Egyptian Gas Holding Company on behalf of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and a number of leaders of the electricity sector. The service center combines a repair center, a tooling center and spare-parts warehouse, along with the Egyptian German Technical, which will serve as a hub for vocational training.   Dr. Shaker expressed his gratitude for participating in a new achievement of the German company Siemens in Egypt.
