President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Eng. Sherif Ismail, Assistant President of the Republic for National and Strategic Projects, Mahmoud Shaarawi, Minister of Local Development, Dr. Assem El-Jazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Planning , and Major General Staff Ihab Al-Far, head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.
The president was briefed on the outcome of the efforts and steps taken during the past period in this context, especially in the governorates of Cairo, Giza and Alexandria, and the outcome of the work of the relevant committees that were formed from all the competent authorities, as well as the proposals and mechanisms being discussed to reorganize urban activity according to new building requirements.
The President directed the formulation of the new building system in a complete manner in terms of aspects and details in a way that achieves the governance of the construction process and urban expansion, within a framework of clear standards, including engineering designs, construction stages, absorption of cars and services for each building, and criteria for determining the height of residential buildings, stressing the imperative of applying these standards. To regulate the construction process, and to adopt a new path of housing and urban expansion, a path based on scientific and objective rules that ends the state of randomness.
The spokesperson added that the president also followed the developments of the “Ahalina 3” project during the meeting with the head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, as he briefed his Excellency on the project’s plan, directing to annex additional land areas to the existing plot of the project, in order to accommodate the largest number of families.
