A Chinese bank official expresses her aspiration for more cooperation in the future in various fields between Egypt and China

Dr. Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, and Dr. Mohamed El Badri, the Egyptian Ambassador to China, witnessed the signing of an agreement with officials of a number of Chinese banks, to obtain the third and final tranche of the contract for financing the implementation of the central business district, in the New Administrative Capital (NAC). This was done through video conference technology, as Chinese banks officials attended at the headquarters of the Egyptian embassy in Beijing.

Dr. Assem El Gazzar thanked the work teams from the Egyptian and Chinese sides who are in charge of implementing this important national project, the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital, which is being implemented for the first time in Egypt and includes the highest tower in Africa, i.e. the iconic tower with a height of about 400 meters. This is a clear evidence of the strength of the Chinese-Egyptian relations and the joint cooperation in the field of construction, stressing that this successful model is a source of pride and an honor for the professional management of projects.

An official of the Chinese banks that financed the project confirmed that this project is a successful model for cooperation between the Egyptian and Chinese sides, expressing her aspiration for more cooperation in the future in various fields.

Engineer Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects, said that the Central Business District includes 20 towers with various uses, including the iconic tower, which is the highest tower in Africa. It is implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority, and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), which is one of the largest contracting companies in the world.
