President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi conducted an inspection tour of a number of construction projects and sites in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), including Egypt International City for Olympic Games, the largest integrated Olympic sports city in the Middle East that is established in coordination with all international sports federations in accordance with each sport's latest global technical standards and procedures.
This City houses an international stadium with a capacity for 90,000 spectators, two indoor gyms with a capacity of 15,000 and 8,000 spectators respectively, and Olympic sports complexes for swimming, all equestrian activities, tennis, squash and other sports. This is in addition to archery, shooting and laser-shooting and shotguns ranges, as well as an athletics track. The City also includes an integrated sports hospital, a well-equipped hotel for hosting sports delegations, and the Capital’s necessary facilities to accommodate visitors and facilitate their movement, including a mosque with a capacity of 500 worshipers, parking spaces for buses and cars and all other services, in addition to wide green spaces in this beautiful city,
which goes in harmony with its facilities and the nature of its sports activity. This City is considered a huge addition to the infrastructure established in the field of international sporting activity in Egypt and the region, in a manner that qualifies Egypt to host and organize major international sports competitions and events at the highest level. The City is also expected to play a major role in encouraging sports practice at the national level and allowing the use of modern sports facilities for citizens of all groups and ages.
The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President emphasized the importance of sticking to the estimated time of the projects’ completion in the New Administrative Capital in accordance with the highest specifications and standards and adhering to the preventive measures against COVID-19 in order to ensure the safety of all workers at all sites.
