Details of Cairo plan to prevent slums and control urbanization
Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting to follow up the work of the spatial variables system, in the presence of a number of ministers to discuss the establishment of a spatial data unit in every governorate to monitor spatial variables, and to complete coordination and linkage with the spatial data system in the Egyptian Military Survey Department of the Armed Forces, with the aim of controlling, governing and following up the formal and informal urbanization.
Cairo Governorate is currently applying the system of spatial variables to control urbanization and prevent slums in the capital, as Cairo is the only governorate that applies this system.
It is a project which aims to monitor the changes that occur spatially within the governorate and the extent of its legality, through monitoring various sites via satellites.
Engineer El-Sayed El-Badriy, supervisor of the project to improve citizens' services in Cairo Governorate, confirmed that the "geographical website" of Cairo governorate works on many services provided to the heads of districts to control violations and encroachments

El-Badry added that this site serves the heads of Districts, through knowing whether the property is illegal or not, or if that land is owned by the state or not, and knowing the government places in the District.
