The Grand Egyptian Museum… The Link between the Civilization of the Past and the Modernity of the Present

Museum Description: The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is located west of Cairo near Giza pyramids. The selected location for this mega project is a witness to the greatness of Egypt in the past, present, and future. The museum is mainly designed to be the largest archeological museum in the world. Its area is about 117 feddans (500.000 sq. m.). It houses more than 100.000 artifacts belonging to both Pharaonic and Greco-Roman periods. It's expected to be visited by more than 5 million visitors annually. The museum will include a number of commercial and entertainment service buildings, a conservation and restoration center and a museum garden planting the trees that the ancient Egyptian used to know. The project will be carried out in three major phases at a cost of $ 550 million. During 2010, the second phase (Phase II) of the project was inaugurated which included a Conservation Center (CC) consisting of a number of tests and analyses labs such as Scanning Electron Microscope & Microbiology labs, in addition to Mummies & Human remains lab, Stone lab, Wood lab, and Ceramics, Glass and Metal labs. The third Phase (Phase III) of the project includes the construction of the museum's main exhibition hall which will display 100.000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, Schoolers museum, a Conference Center, an Archeological Library and the Child museum. Arts & Culture City in NAC The largest cultural edifice in the Middle East

Area: 100 acres A global cultural city implemented in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), to serve as a world platform for art and culture during the coming period. Wadi El-Natrun Culture Palace An icon of creativity in Beheira, with designs inspired by Hassan Fathy

Wadi El-Natrun Culture Palace in Beheira is considered one of the most important cultural palaces in Egypt, due to its unique architectural design similar to the designs of the international architect Hassan Fathy, in addition to its distinguished activities such as Badia arts, theater, cinema and celebrity libraries such as the library of the late critic Ali Abu Shady and other rich artistic activities. Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, accompanied by Major General Hisham Amna, Governor of Beheira, inaugurated the new palace on an area of about 4,000 square meters, at a total cost of about EGP 28 million. The Museum of Modern Egyptian Art opens its doors to the public after its development

Minister of Culture: The necessity of maximizing the use of museums in consolidating the principles of patriotism Dr Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture inaugurated the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art after redeveloping and renewing its displaying system.The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. Khaled Sorour, head of the Fine Arts Sector, Dr. Hisham Azmy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture, Dr. Magdy Saber, head of the Egyptian Opera House, Dr. Soad shawky, head of the Foreign cultural relations sector and an array of artists and media professionals. Sisi reviews the details of the “New Delta" national project, with an area of one million feddans

During the meeting of Mr. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi with Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Mr. El- Sayed Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning, Major General Mustafa Amin, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO), and Staff Major General,  Ehab El Far, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority. Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has urged immediate implementation of a new developmental project, dubbed ‘New Delta’, as part of the state’s efforts to form modern agricultural and urban complexes, a statement by the Egyptian Presidency said. During the meeting, El-Sisi was briefed on the studies made by research teams from the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Service Products Organization, and academic authorities on the land allocated for the project.
