Housing Ministry to Deliver Residential Plots in West Cairo

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar has stated that the 6th of October City Development Authority will start handing over the most distinguished residential plots in the ninth district of the urban area,. El Gazzar further elaborated, in a recent ministerial statement, that the delivery date will start from October 10 until June 14, 2021. It is worth noting that New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) will offer 3,098 housing plots across 11 new cities, ranging between 209 and 287 square meters, through a land lottery system from September 15 to October 15.

Renowned Egyptian Architect Abdelhalim Ibrahim Abdelhalim Wins 2020 Tamayouz Lifetime Achievement Award

Architect, urban planner, and professor, Dr.Abdelhalim Ebrahim CDC  was selected as the 2020 laureate of Tamayouz’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The highest accolade of the Tamayouz Excellence Award is awarded annually to an individual “who have made significant contributions towards humanity and the advancement of architecture and the built environment in the Near East and North Africa”. Dr.Abdelhalim is the 2020 laureate of Tamayouz’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He will receive this honor at Tamayouz’s annual ceremony, postponed to 2021. Established in 2014, the award, part of the Tamayouz  Award program, “recognizes those whose commitments to architecture were and continue to be unparalleled”. Egypt targets EGP 136.4 bln investments in urban development during 2020/21

A ministerial report clarified that the urban development sector’s share in Egypt’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices is expected to reach about EGP 706 billion during 2020/2021 Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said announced that the government targets to inject about EGP 136.4 billion, representing 18.5 percent of the country’s total investment plan for FY2020/2021, in the urban development sector. In a statement issued on Thursday, the minister clarified that these investments are split into three parts, including real estate activities that constitute the largest part at a rate of 45.6 per cent (EGP 62.1 billion), while 28.5 per cent of investment (EGP 38.9 billion) is allocated to construction works, and 25.9 per cent (EGP 35.3 billion) is directed to water and sanitation projects. A ministerial report clarified that the urban development sector’s share in Egypt’s gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices is expected to reach about EGP 706 billion during 2020/2021, with a growth rate of 4.7 per cent over 2019. Painting 123,000 Buildings as Part of Improving Urbanism Image Plan in Egypt

The state of urban distortion that Egypt witnessed in the past decades has erased the aesthetic identity of a number of areas in the governorates. Serious steps have been taken to improve the visual and aesthetic vision of buildings, especially in the governorate capitals, thus restoring Egypt to its urban and aesthetic distinction. The state, represented by the Ministry of Local Development, began implementation immediately. The Ministry of Environment, in cooperation with the German Friedrich- Ebert- Stiftung, organized a workshop on mechanisms for integrating biological diversity in the urban planning sector for government workers specializing in housing and urban planning in Alexandria in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities, the Urban Planning Authority in Cairo and Alexandria, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and representatives of universities in Cairo and Alexandria. The death of Engineer Hussein Sabour after a long journey of professional and scientific giving
